About the role

*This role covers Compliance & Tracking of the site HGV Fleet within Transport* 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Clerk covering compliance to join our team based at our Booker Retail Partner Distribution Centre .

You will support the day to day administration of the Transport department, overseeing Compliance and any additional Transport duties as required. 

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Operations Clerk some of the key accountabilities will include:-

1. Promoting and ensuring compliance with transport policies, procedures and legislation

2. Ensure vehicles are scheduled for service / safety inspections when required

3. Oversee daily defect checking by drivers and collate reports for review by Managers 

4. Review and file transport related records

5. Aid with and carry out quarterly licence checks

6. Update and maintain the drivers working time calendar, ensuring all holiday, sickness and other duties are entered

7. Aid the driver trainer with driver infringements, issuing reports and producing the relevant infringement paperwork

8. Maintain driver records and assist the Team Managers with maintenance of vehicle records

9. Produce and distribute regular weekly compliance reports

 

You will need

To be successful in the role you should have:

Data Entry / Administrative Experience (essential) 

GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent level numeric and literacy skills) (essential)

PC Literate and use of Microsoft 365 (essential) 

Excellent communication skills (essential) 

Ability to analyse verbal and numeric data (essential) 

Able to work on own initiative and under pressure (essential) 

Ability to work as part of a team (essential)

Good time management and organisational skills (essential) 

Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment

Attention to detail and accuracy

Experience with HGV drivers or within a similar transport role desirable however, we will consider transferable skills.
