The role will require working within a matrix organisation, working with stakeholders internally and externally across branch operations, technology, distribution, supply chain and SRM to scope and detail program of work, key performance indicators and roadmap.

Main Responsibilities
Objectives of the programme will be to improve the ordering algorithms for the supply chain systems, improving availability, reducing operating costs, upgrading, reducing stock holding and releasing cash
- Partnering the retail, supply chain, distribution & technology teams to lead the delivery of the supply chain system development.
- Leading and consulting on significant programs of work that simplify, improve or transform our operations for colleagues and enhance the shopping trip for customers.
- Developing the key performance indicators and metrics for measures of success.
- Engaging across the business to critique and assess all aspects of the current processes and systems
- Use a combination of data and business understanding to turn data into insight, root causing issues, defining problems, designing creative solutions and implementing them in the business.
- Make recommendations to the business on our 3-year strategy.
- Reporting data accurately and turning it into useful information which has context and supporting narrative.
- Articulating the opportunity, insight, or project clearly, flexing your style to engage with empathy and conviction.
- Build engagement, influence relevant stakeholders and deliver change in line with milestones.
- Measure the costs & benefits associated with your work and recommending suspension/postponement of delivery if an opportunity fails to materialise or previously unknown costs become apparent.
- Partnering with other functions as relevant on operations transformation or where their subject matter expertise is required
- Agitating the business on areas that will improve the operational efficiency
- Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious
- Actively contributing across the team, Supply Chain and wider business.
- Effectively lead streams of work to both deliver and sustain all change and simplification programmes of work, driving consistency and efficiency across branches whilst saving to invest.
- Lead my team to keep things as simple as possible and challenge unnecessary complexity making things better for customers, simpler for colleagues and cheaper for Booker.
- Develop and lead a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
- Developing the future skills and talent requirements for the team with a plan for succession.
- Develop a culture of analytics led decision making.
- Set clear objectives and review my team's performance through 1:1 meeting’s, Inspiring Great Performance Every Day and everyday conversations, using the supporting your performance process to manage under-performance where required.

- Proven success in project management, supply chain transformation, or process improvement.
- Expertise in data analysis, root cause analysis, and reporting.

- Experience in space, range, and merchandising processes and systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills.
- A results-driven, innovative mindset with a focus on delivering operational efficiency.
