About the role

The Regional Security Manager is responsible for supporting, developing, implementing and overseeing security measures within the Booker wholesale network. This role involves assessing security risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks, and ensuring the overall safety and security of our wholesale business, colleagues, customers and assets. The Regional Security Manager will work with various departments, law enforcement agencies, and external suppliers to support a secure and efficient working & trading environment. Reporting to the Company Security Manager.

Main Responsibilities

Security Strategy and Planning:

Work closely with relevant Regional Directors and Support team colleagues & departments to help support and implement a safe, secure working & trading environment for all our colleagues and customers .

Identify, support and develop the implementation of security measures, processes and policies to support the safety & security of all our colleagues, customers and business centres.

Working with and supporting the Distribution Security Manager with any key incident or investigation support where appropriate and be part of the on-call security process for out of hours support.

Supporting the Company Security Manager ensure that the business security strategy is delivered and conduct any security support as directed by the Company Security Manager efficiently & professionally across the Booker Ltd estate.

Risk Assessment:

Conduct security health checks for wholesale business and support centres as required, identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

Ensure compliance with relevant security procedures, standards, and industry best practices.

Stay informed about the latest developments in security technology and where appropriate utilise robust business plans and payback models to support the right investment to reduce risks across the wholesale sector, whether personal safety or asset protection.

Physical Security:

Review physical security measures to safeguard the business, working with our 3rd party suppliers to identify opportunities to enhance and drive consistency across the Booker estate.

Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems, such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems by identifying risks and implementing a consistent approach.

Incident Response and Crisis Management:

Review, develop and implement processes for reporting, responding & supporting security incidents, emergencies and stock-loss issues. 

Coordinate, follow-up and investigate with internal functions such as People Partners or Operational Support Managers and where appropriate law enforcement agencies and other external entities during stock-loss or theft related investigations & security-related incidents.

Communication:

Work with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures seamlessly into wholesale operations.

Communicate security policies and procedures effectively to all relevant stakeholders.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of Booker security policies, procedures, and incidents.
  • Provide regular reports to the company Security Manager, Regional Directors & support teams on relevant areas of security and /or incident & investigation reporting.

 

You will need


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, specifically around report writing and maintaining spreadsheet statistics.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external resources.

Desirable but not essential

  • Proven experience in security management, preferably in a regional / multi-site role.
  • Working knowledge of security risk assessments and physical security measures.
