About the role


Booker Group is recruiting for a Sustainability Manager – Reporting & Analysis, in this new role you will play a crucial role in our Sustainability team delivering reporting, planning & forecasting.

 

This  role is key to  cover the current and increased data and analytical requirements, governance and controls for current and future emerging CSR and sustainability legislation,  along with year-end reporting processes, internal planning and analysis activity (carbon forecasting including across 10-year horizons aligned to the delivery of our net zero plans),  stakeholder sustainability reporting, corporate sustainability target measurement and strategy development


The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and come from a strong process & control background, this role faces into multiple teams across the business to ensure we report timely, accurately and with a strong focus on control and data reliability. 


As part of navigating year-end this role will work across the group with ESG control managers, sustainability, logistics, property teams and communications, and has an opportunity to create a CSR reporting community across the diverse range of stakeholders.




Main Responsibilities


•    Managing the year-end sustainability reporting process across various operational areas and Booker entities to comply with current and emerging regulations.

•    Supporting the Tesco & Booker team with the budget and LTP planning process from a carbon and ESG perspective, ensuring the implications of the choices on our decarbonisation pathway are understood and documented.

•    Modelling and measurement in relation to the development and tracking of sustainability strategy and targets

•    Working with customers and Booker teams to support the climate reporting required by key accounts

•    Management of ESG reporting, governance and controls to align with company disclosure and legislative requirements

•    Working with relevant stakeholders to establish the monthly EPR data and integrate it into internal processes for streamlined reporting and cost mitigation

•    Managing and developing the Sustainability Analyst

•    Championing Equality and Diversity and ensure everyone is welcome at Booker


You will need

•    Strong communication  skills to include report writing, presentation, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management. 

•    Ability to communicate complex ESG & sustainability concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•    Experience of financial planning and analysis reporting processes with strong excel skills and financial modelling.

•    •    Knowledge of sustainability, carbon footprinting (scope 1, 2 & 3),  key CSR topics, regulatory landscape, disclosure standards. Knowledge of  EPR, CSRD, EUDR & DRS regulations would be an advantage

•    The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
