About the role

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to develop your career further in Booker? We have a newly created role as Business Development Manager, based in the South East, in the Home Delivery team.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, self driven, and embraces change to help deliver our business strategy.

As a Business Development Manager, you would report directly to the Head of Home Delivery and work alongside a team of BDM’s to form the National Retail Home Delivery Team. Your role is crucial in delivering the companies objectives through the engagement and delivery of the Home Delivery Plan. Working closely with our symbol partners across Premier, Londis, Budgens and Family Shopper to support and develop their businesses through our home delivery platform and help them transition and grow sales and profit through Home Delivery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit and onboard new partner convenience stores that align with our companies’ vision, criteria and target market.
  • Achievement of set KPI’s.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the rapid grocery sector including an in-depth knowledge of the Booker RGD solution including set up and administration.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of GDPR legislation and compliance.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to increase order volume and revenue from partner grocery stores.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing partners, providing ongoing support and addressing their needs.
  • Monitor and analyse partner performance metrics, including order volume, sales and delivery times.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance retailer growth.
  • Ensuring that feedback is shared with the retail functions, thus allowing for relevant and fit for purpose interventions to be created.
  • Gather feedback from our retailers to identify areas for improvement in our services and products.
  • Working collaboratively with your BDM colleagues and cross functions as appropriate to share best practice and improve the Home Delivery brand.

You will need

Operational skills relevant for this job

  • Successful career to date with a core skill set around influencing customers.
  • Exceptional relationship building capability.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Effectiveness in a remote field-based role as well as being part of a team.
  • Ability to challenge, develop and embed change.
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft 365, word and excel.
  • Experience across Data & Digital Analytics & Digital Marketing.
  • Experience in retail technology hardware & software sales.
  • Ability to support retailers with technical and system issues.
