About the role

The Marketing Executive reports into the Head of Buying and is primarily responsible for maximising the income of all promotional and marketing campaigns and the processes around this profit stream. The scope of the role extends to supporting the Head of Buying and Head of Sales with other projects and ad-hoc requests, whilst maintaining a focus on improving customer satisfaction and cash profit. The ideal candidate will have practical experience of building relationships and working with suppliers to drive product growth across online and print marketing channels. They will be passionate about delivering consistently high-quality work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure all available advertising slots are filled.
  • Coordinate promotions, annual brochures, and activation periods (e.g., themed promotional months).
  • Provide performance reports and manage budgets in alignment with financial expectations.
  • Work with the Head of Buying and Head of Sales to optimise campaign effectiveness.
  • Drive additional advertising revenue through brochures, leaflets, mailings, and digital platforms.
  • Deliver exceptional service by working proactively with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Utilise marketing insights to maximise sales and profitability for suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance to ensure timely processing of supplier advertising proposals and funding confirmations.
  • Support additional tasks as required to contribute to the success of the team.

You will need

  • Highly organised and self-motivated.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality work with a zero-tolerance approach to errors.
  • Passionate about marketing, with a strong understanding of web.
  • Strong problem-solving and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, including pivot tables, data tables, and data manipulation.
  • Effective verbal communicator, able to engage with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Hardworking, reliable, and results-driven, with a talent for building strong relationships.
  • Team player with the ability to thrive under strict deadlines.

 

Desirable but not essential

  • 2 years’ experience in this or a similar role.
  • Experience in the drinks industry.
