About the role

As a Depot Operative, you will be responsible for managing pick sheet orders from warehouse staff and management, accurately selecting inventory from shelves to fulfil orders. Tasks include packing orders, shrink-wrapping items onto pallets, and loading them onto trucks for timely delivery. Ensures all orders are correct, maintains up-to-date inventory records, and contributes to efficient warehouse operations. Additionally, delivers goods to customer premises, verifies delivery accuracy, obtains signed documentation, and collects any returned items. Provisional start date 17/05/2025. Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm including 30 minutes unpaid lunch.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage picking sheets to ensure accurate order fulfilment.
  • Select warehouse items based on specifications such as size, colour, quantity, and quality.
  • Verify order accuracy before processing for delivery.
  • Prepare and stage items appropriately for dispatch.
  • Operate handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Plan and oversee product storage, replenishment, and dispatch.
  • Monitor stock control systems to process specific orders efficiently.
  • Ensure warehouse targets and performance goals are achieved.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
  • Securely shrink-wrap products onto pallets for shipment.
  • Load delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver goods to customer premises, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
  • Assist driver operatives as needed.
  • Verify goods with customers and ensure documentation is completed accurately.
  • Pack warehouse orders as required to support team operations.
  • Utilise scanners to ensure accurate inventory management and order picking.
  • Perform general warehouse duties and other tasks as required.

You will need

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and inventory management.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
  • Capability to remain standing and active for extended periods.
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative in completing tasks.
  • A strong focus on safety and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and interacting with customers.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations is preferred but not required.
  • FLT certificate
