About the role

We are delighted to share a new exciting opportunity to support our People Team and Business in building and bringing to life a more consistent and meaningful colleague experience. This role will focus on key areas such as People Comms, Colleague Listening and DEI to enhance our company culture. 

Location can be flexible but will need to be present in Equity House weekly. 

We anticipate interview dates for this role to be as per below, however if these aren't suitable please do let us know so that we can work with you to facilitate an application.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide insights and guidance to the People Leadership Team (PLT) and wider business on People communications, ensuring it supports Booker Group’s cultural transformation and keeps colleagues engaged with our proposition.
  • Oversee the People functions’ comms moments, manage the People Comms Calendar, and act as the primary liaison with the broader Communications team.
  • Oversee and collate the core People narratives for formal communications, reports, and other key documents.
  • Actively seek opportunities to listen to colleagues across the business to understand their needs, feedback, and experiences. You’ll also own People team meetings and days to ensure the voice of the colleague is heard and reflected in our communications approach.
  • Project manage formal colleague listening mechanisms, including the EVM and Colleague Contribution Panel, ensuring an excellent experience for both line managers and colleagues.
  • Working with the Booker Exec, Colleague Networks and Tesco Group DE&I POE to determine the Booker DE&I Strategy, with a guiding principle that inclusion is always top of mind. 
  • Drive the delivery of our DE&I agenda, collaborating across teams to ensure initiatives are impactful and aligned with the broader business goals.
  • Provide guidance to Colleague Network leadership, helping them to thrive and fulfil their purpose.
  • Oversee the operations of the Colleague Networks, including managing the network budget, annual events calendar, and associated communications.
  • Collaborating with Group PoEs to enable us to move at pace to enhance our colleague experience (take the best from Tesco to make Booker better).

You will need

  • Passion for enhancing the colleague experience.
  • Understanding of DE&I frameworks and ability to implement them.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and create strategies.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics to enable the creation of compelling messaging.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
